Remapping session
Remapping adjusts the software in your vehicle’s engine control unit (ECU), which manages how the engine runs. It can improve power delivery, torque and throttle response, with the changes depending on your engine, its condition and your goals.
Pop & Bang map
Adjusts engine behaviour when you lift off the accelerator to create pops and crackles through the exhaust on suitable petrol vehicles. This is a sound-focused modification; compatibility depends on the engine and exhaust setup, and it can increase heat and wear on exhaust components.
Mobile appointments
We come to an agreed location to carry out suitable remapping work, saving you a trip to a workshop. Availability depends on your area, the vehicle and the work required. Send your postcode and vehicle details to discuss an appointment.
DPF solution
The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot from the exhaust and periodically burns it off through regeneration. This service covers options for DPF-related issues such as blockage warnings or failed regeneration. The right approach depends on the cause of the fault and the vehicle’s condition.
Gearbox tuning
Gearbox tuning adjusts the software that controls a compatible automatic transmission. It can improve shift speed and responsiveness, refine gear changes and optimise shift points to suit your driving style or an engine remap. Available adjustments depend on your gearbox and its condition; send us your vehicle details to confirm suitability.
EGR solution
The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system feeds some exhaust gas back into the engine to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. Carbon build-up or a faulty valve can cause rough running, hesitation or warning lights. Contact us to discuss suitable options for your vehicle’s EGR issue.
AdBlue solution
AdBlue is a fluid used by many diesel vehicles to help reduce nitrogen oxide emissions in the exhaust. Faults in the dosing system, sensors or related components can trigger warnings and, on some vehicles, a no-start countdown. We discuss the available options based on your vehicle and its fault.
DTC delete
DTC stands for diagnostic trouble code: a code stored when the vehicle detects a fault. DTC delete changes the ECU software to suppress selected codes on compatible vehicles. It does not repair the underlying fault, so the cause needs to be understood before considering this option.
Stage 1
A software remap designed for a vehicle with standard engine hardware. It adjusts settings such as fuelling and, where applicable, turbo boost to improve power, torque and response. Results depend on the engine and its condition; supporting performance modifications are generally not required.
Stage 2
A remap designed to work with supporting hardware upgrades, such as improved intake, intercooling or a suitable exhaust system. The software is matched to those changes to develop performance beyond a typical Stage 1 setup. Required upgrades vary by vehicle.
Stage 3
Tuning for vehicles with substantial performance upgrades, often including a larger turbo or changes to the fuel system and engine hardware. The calibration needs to suit the complete setup, with cooling and drivetrain limits considered. Contact us with your full specification to discuss suitability.
Popcorn limiter
Changes the rev-limiter behaviour on compatible diesel engines to produce a rapid, choppy exhaust sound when the limiter is reached. This is mainly a sound effect rather than a power upgrade. Suitability depends on the engine and setup; repeated use can add stress to components.
Cold start delete (BMW, MINI)
Changes the initial cold-start strategy on compatible BMW and MINI petrol vehicles, typically reducing the raised idle and louder exhaust note just after starting. That strategy normally helps warm the catalytic converter, so changing it can affect emissions during warm-up.
CAT solution
The catalytic converter (CAT) treats exhaust gases to reduce harmful emissions. This service covers options for catalytic-converter-related faults or compatibility with an existing exhaust setup. Share your vehicle details, modifications and any fault codes so we can discuss a suitable approach.
Remapping may affect emissions compliance, warranty and insurance. Road vehicles must remain compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
